Rebecca Bidwell contributed to the LAA’s Help Us Say Yes Webinar: CCFS on the 5th of April 2022. She was once again thrilled to have been invited to take part in a Legal Aid Agency training session, especially to bring the unique perspective of costs drafting. It was an extremely interesting session discussing the differences between the two payment schemes and how to apply them correctly, with the aim of providing clarity for fee earners and costs drafters alike.

Rebecca also contributed to a series of recordings with the LAA focused on Family very high cost cases, please follow the link to watch them: Legal Aid Learning

“I was delighted to be asked to join the Legal Aid Agency’s recent training session on both Care Case Fee Scheme, CCFS and QC/Two Counsel Events Model.

There are differences between the two payment schemes discussed in the webinar and if the rules are incorrectly applied, they can cause all sorts of issues which delay fee earners getting paid for their cases. The Legal Aid Agency set out to provide clarification around the rules to enable providers to have a better understanding. It was great to add in some hints and tips from the costs drafting side.”
