Started at a costs drafting firm in Norwich in early 1989 and in 2000 I joined John M. Hayes. I set up their Newcastle Office in 2001 where I was manager for over 16 years. Joined Bidwell Henderson in 2018. Over the years I have had extensive experience of most areas of costs, particularly family legal aid and civil inter partes work (including regular engagement in negotiations, Points of Dispute/Replies, and Court assessment hearings). My workload also consisted of a large range of managerial/administrative tasks, including recruitment & training, marketing and credit control.
Profile: Previous employment has included RAC motor insurance, Magistrates Court work, HM Prison Service and criminal litigator. Married with 2 grown up daughters and 1 granddaughter (Abigail, age 1). Lifelong Newcastle United follower. Regular gym goer and enjoy participating in running events.
Claim to Fame: Since September 2011 I have completed 44 half marathons (including 8 consecutive Great North Runs) and 1 marathon in 2018 (on my 60th birthday). Hoping to reach 50 HMs in 2019.
Favourite TV Genre: Favourite films are ‘Ice Cold in Alex’ and ‘Twelve Angry Men’ (both in black and white!). On TV I most enjoy crime documentaries and dramas (particularly ‘A Touch of Frost’).
