My name is Chelsea Allcock and I work for Bidwell Henderson. I have worked here since the 16th October 2017. I am in the process of finishing my level 3 Business Administration course which I have completed through the agency Create Skills.
My experience with the course
At the beginning of my course, I had to pick the sections which I was to cover during my course. Some of these included using emails and using formulas in excel. My personal tutor would come out every two to three months to give me new tasks to complete. The tasks ranged from completing research into a given area or producing evidence to demonstrate my understanding of the area. The whole process of my course has been enjoyable from start to finish. This is due to the help and encouragement which I received from the whole team at Bidwell Henderson. If I ever needed help with my assignments they would always be there to offer a hand. As a 19-year-old entering a professional environment I was very anxious but the team at Bidwell Henderson were supportive and trained me in all aspects of the job. Nothing was too much trouble which helped to settle my nerves.
What have I gained from the apprenticeship?
One year on from starting my apprenticeship I have had two promotions. I now work very closely with Director Rebecca Bidwell on Recruitment and Marketing because I enjoyed this area of the business the most. I was given the opportunity to learn different roles and decide what I liked to do. The business supports me to go on additional short courses which has been enhancing my skills in this area. I have been on courses such as developing effective content for the web, Google analytics and emailing for success. I am also the qualified first aider for the Alfreton Office.
What can I tell you about Bidwell Henderson as a firm?
Bidwell Henderson is a company that will encourage and train new apprentices in all aspects of business and will nurture the individual’s strengths. I have a permanent position with them now and I am part of helping grow and develop the business which is an exciting place to be.
