After completing the LPC in 2011, Kimberley began working as a paralegal at TV Edwards LLP assisting on cases in a variety of Legal Aid categories including Housing, Community Care and Judicial Review.
After a few years, Kimberley transferred into the billing department and into the role of in-house fixed fee biller, where she predominantly dealt with Family billing. Kimberley began training as a Costs Lawyer in 2015 (and qualified in 2018).
In 2016, Kimberley moved to McMillan William Solicitors Limited where she continued to deal with a wide variety of Family billing, including drafting court assessed bills, EX80’s and post assessment (CCMS) claims. Whilst at MWSL, Kimberley was also exposed to claims and 3/6-column (phased) bill drafting in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Actions Against Public Authorities cases.
Kimberley moved to Wilsons Solicitors LLP to become their Head of Legal Aid costs in 2018. In addition to managing the billing department, she was involved in LAA Auditing and Core Testing. Further, Kimberley was responsible for overseeing the billing of Controlled work (Legal Help and Controlled Legal Representation), and processing Immigration, Family and Public Law cases.
Profile: Kimberley was the winner of the ACL Cup in 2018 – for the highest scoring student in her cohort. Kimberley loves to travel, enjoys going to the theatre and watching all manner of Netflix box sets and movies (although, she’ll pass on the horror films)
Claim to fame: Kimberley passed her Grade 6 ballet exam with Distinction in 2012.
