Equal to Everything, Judge Brenda and the Supreme Court – Our Big Idea

Posted 10.10.2019

What do we want to achieve?

We want to give every child the opportunity to read this book.

Judge Brenda and the supreme court

Why?

Whilst reading the children’s book ‘Equal to Everything’ about Supreme Court Judge Brenda Hale to my 4 year old son, Alex, and 2 year old daughter, Emily, I found myself thinking, wouldn’t it be wonderful if every young person had the opportunity to read this fabulous book on equality, which has been written and illustrated for them.

What are we doing?

We are pledging to donate and deliver the children’s book ‘Equal to Everything’ to every primary school in Derbyshire before Christmas.

BUT that’s not it. Our combined goal with Legal Action Group is to provide every primary school with a copy throughout the UK by 2022, and you can help by donating here on our joint crowdfunding campaign, which will help bring books to the next region.

What’s the book about?

The book is based on the life of Lady Hale, the President of the Supreme Court. It follows a young girl called Ama who starts a new school, and whilst on a class trip she learns about the work of the court, how the law works and some of the interesting cases that illustrate how important law is to help people and how difficult it can be to make just and fair decisions.

How are we going to make this happen?

With the help of Esther Pilger and Carol Storer at Legal Action Group, we as a company have purchased 500 books, which we will be delivering to all primary schools across Derbyshire with the help of our team and super helpful in-house courier driver and grandad, Mike.

Our combined goal with Legal Action Group is to provide every primary school with a copy throughout the UK by 2022 and you can help by donating here on our joint crowdfunding campaign to the next region.
