Court Bills Now Assessed By The Legal Aid Agency From 1st June 2020

Posted 01.06.2020

The Legal Aid Agency have today published guidance which confirms that legal aid court bills will no longer be assessed by the courts and will move across to the Legal Aid Agency.

This change will not apply to legal aid cases with Inter Partes Costs Orders.

As an interim measure solicitors will be able to choose whether they have a court bill prepared or an LAA assessed bill. We will shortly be circulating some additional information but please feel free to email Rebecca Bidwell on rebecca.bidwell@bidwellhenderson.co.uk to discuss this in more detail.
